AMYLOIDOSIS IN ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS

Rectal biopsies were obtained from 47 patients with ankylosing spondylitis and were adequate for examination for amyloidosis in 35. Definite evidence of amyloid disease was found in 3, these patients all having severe and long-standing disease.
