CONTROLLED TRIAL OF DOUBLE OSTEOTOMY FOR RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS*
PRELIMINARY REPORT

St. Bartholomew's Hospital London
A controlled trial was used to compare double osteotomy and immobilization in plaster for rheumatoid arthritis affecting the knee. The operation was superior in relieving pain and correcting valgus deformity; it was at least as effective in correcting flexion deformity.
