A review of 41 orthopaedic operative procedures and 54 other surgical procedures in respectively 21 and 38 patients with psoriasis and arthritis is reported. A low prevalence of wound sepsis (1 of 41 and 2 of 54 procedures) and other complications (1 of 41 and 1 of 54 procedures) suggests that elective surgery including joint prosthesis should not be withheld from patients with psoriatic arthritis.
