Correspondence to: Address correspondence to Dr. D.L. Scott

Six patients are described with partial finger loss due to severe Raynaud's syndrome. In all cases the vascular changes were an early feature of a connective tissue disease with overlap features. It was a poor prognostic feature often heralding severe multisystem involvement with life threatening and on one occasion fatal consequences.

KEY WORDS: Connective tissue disease, Digital ischaemia, Raynaud's syndrome
