PNEUMOCYSTIS CARINII PNEUMONIA IN A PATIENT WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS, NOT ON IMMUNOSUPPRESSIVE THERAPY AND IN THE ABSENCE OF HUMAN IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS INFECTION

We report a case of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis, not on immunosuppressive therapy, and in the absence of human immunodeficiency virus infection; investigation revealed a CD4+ T-lymphopenia.
