SIR, We would like to report the case of a 23-yr-old non-smoking, immunocompetent man who developed pulmonary infiltrates with eosinophilia (PIE) after using meloxicam to alleviate shoulder-ache due to strain.
The eosinophilic lung diseases are a diverse group of pulmonary disorders characterized by an increase in circulating or tissue eosinophils [1]. A variety of drugs and chemicals have been implicated in the causation of eosinophilic lung disease [2]. To the best of our knowledge, no case of meloxicam induced eosinophilic lung disease has been reported so far.
